Eat Fruits Make Bone Strong

Studies prove that fruit is beneficial for the body, so add bananas, melons and potatoes in any food menu you eat, can prevent osteoporosis especially for those who really like salty food. Potassium contained in fruit would react to the negative effects of salt-rich diet.
"How to prevent the arising excess of bone absorption," says Dr. Deborah Sellmeyer, Assistant Professor of Endocrinology and metabolism of Univesity of California, San Francisco.
Of course, Sellmeyer not simply suggest, women consume potassium supplements are currently widely available. She asserts, consumption of salt-rich foods can cause osteoporosis.
"Usually, the salt-rich diet is associated with high blood pressure and stroke," he said.
According to the national Foundation of about 44 million Americans resident at the age over 50 years are experience of osteoporosis, in this case, women at risk is higher. But it doesn’t mean that men do not experience it.
Many understand that calcium and vitamin D is important for strengthening bones, a lot of people doesn’t know yet the importance of potassium, whereas potassium also contributed to slow osteoporosis.
This study involving 60 women after menopause. For three weeks the respondents live diet low in salt and that is only 2 grams a day, less than 6 grams or more of about 1.5 teaspoon. This is in accordance with recomendation of the local health department.
Then they do research against the respondent. First, measured calcium wasted when urinating and the amount of NTX protein that is missing due to the osteoporosis. Then the respondent requested to live with diet rich in salt, which is 9 grams a day for an entire month. The number of common Americans consumed.
Half of the respondents among them consuming calcium supplements, while others were given a placebo (a pill is empty). The results obtained from analyzing that potassium by Sellmeyer proved to protect, even calcium lost fewer than just as a diet low in salt.
Women who do not consume a diet rich in potassium but continued the salt would lose calcium and protein more than they that consume potassium. This indicates that the consumption of more salt increases the osteoporosis.
So a diet rich in salts will pull calcium out of the bones, but the potassium decrease the damages. Therefore women are advised to consume fruits and vegetables 7-8 servings a day. It is considered easier than reducing salt intake in daily diet.
